          Tom Bindley founded Bindley Capital Corporation in 1998 to assist smaller companies in raising capital and to make investments in venture, buy-out and financial restructuring transactions.  Prior to founding Bindley Capital Corporation, Mr. Bindley served for six years as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Whitman Corporation, a $3.5 billion company which operated three major businesses: Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers, Midas International and Hussmann Corporation.  In early 1998, Midas and Hussmann were spun off to Whitman shareholders and became publicly traded NYSE companies.

 

          Prior to joining Whitman, Mr. Bindley served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Square D Company, a $1.7 billion manufacturer of electrical equipment headquartered in Palatine, Illinois.  He joined Square D in 1986 as Vice President Finance and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 1989. Square D was acquired by Groupe Schneider in 1991.

 

          Prior to joining Square D, Mr. Bindley was with McGraw-Edison Company, a $1.8 billion diversified manufacturing company headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.  He joined McGraw-Edison in 1977 as Director of Corporate Planning.  In 1979, he was promoted to Treasurer; in 1981 to Vice President and Treasurer; and in 1984, to Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. McGraw-Edison was acquired by Cooper Industries in 1985

 

          Prior to joining McGraw-Edison, he worked for Pryor Corporation, a privately held manufacturing firm in Chicago.

 

          Mr. Bindley received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 1965 and a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard University in 1969.  From 1965 to 1967, he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps, both in the United States and in Vietnam.

 

          Mr. Bindley is a member of the Board of Directors of Midas, Inc. and a former Board Member and Lead Director of the Lincoln National Income Fund, Inc. and the Lincoln National Convertible Securities Fund, Inc.

 

          Mr. Bindley is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago and a member and former officer and Director of the Harvard Business School Club of Chicago.  He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Chicago and for more than 15 years served as a member of the Board of Advisors of The McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.

 

          Mr. Bindley was born in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Mr. Bindley and his wife, Kathy, have four children and reside in Northfield, Illinois.
