BRYAN CRESSEY is currently Partner at Cressey and Company. He co-founded Golder, Thoma, Cressey, Rauner, Inc. and Thoma Cressey Bravo, which managed $2 billion of private equity funds.
Mr. Cressey serves as Chairman of a New York Stock Exchange company, Belden, Inc., and Director of several others. He has been featured in Time Magazine and Fortune Magazine and is asked to speak nationwide on private equity investing and health care services.
Mr. Cressey holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a JD from Harvard Law School, and a BA from the University of Washington. He was inducted into the Chicago Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame in 1998.
Messrs. Cressey and Thoma have been credited by the Wall Street Journal with inventing the industry consolidation investment strategy that they have refined and improved for over 20 years. This leadership position has also been acknowledged in articles in Business Week and Fortune. From the first industry consolidation company its Principals founded in 1978 to the present, they have led over 40 industry consolidation investments, focusing primarily on the service sector, especially health care services, communications, and software. Numerous highly successful companies have evolved from Thoma Cressey Bravo’s industry consolidation strategy. These include the world’s largest company in the paging industry, the nation’s second largest networking cable company, the nation’s fourth largest funeral home company and the nation’s fourth largest propane distribution company.
