LESTER B. KNIGHT is currently the Founding and Managing Partner of RoundTable Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm focused on buying and building great healthcare companies. The fund currently has $1.1 billion under management.
Mr. Knight has over 25 years of healthcare operating experience, principally in senior management roles at Baxter International, Allegiance, Cardinal Health and now RoundTable.
In 1999, he served as Vice Chairman of Cardinal Health following the merger of Allegiance with Cardinal Health. Prior to the merger, Mr. Knight was Chairman of the Board and CEO of Allegiance Corporation. The company was formed in a multibillion-dollar spin-off from Baxter International, Inc. Previously, Mr. Knight was Executive Vice President and a Member of the Board of Directors of Baxter. He was elected as Corporate Vice President of Baxter in 1990 and named Executive Vice President of Baxter in 1992. He joined Baxter in 1981 and served in several manufacturing, research-and-development and senior management positions.
Mr. Knight was elected to the Aon Corporation Board of Directors in 1997. He chairs the Investment Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Knight was elected to the Northwestern University Board of Trustees in June, 1998. He chairs the Committee on Technology Transfer and Business Development and is a member of the Executive Committee. Additionally, he is a director of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare and Junior Achievement of Chicago. Mr. Knight is also a member of The Commercial Club of Chicago and The Economic Club of Chicago.
Mr. Knight holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Cornell University (1980) and a master’s degree in business from the Cornell Johnson School of Management (1981).
