John A. Kujawa is the U.S. Vice President of Franchising for McDonald’s Corporation. In this position he is responsible for leading all of the U.S. Company’s franchising efforts including developing strategies for recruitment, development and motivation of franchisees. In addition, he is the Franchising liaison to the Partner Brands.
Kujawa began his McDonald’s career in 1989 as Sr. Franchising Attorney and has held various Home Office and Field positions including Sr. Director, Franchising - Central Division and General Counsel - Southeast Division. Prior to joining McDonald’s, John was an attorney at the Chicago law firm of Chapman and Cutler.
Kujawa, a former Archie Award recipient, has received numerous McDonald’s Team Awards and the prestigious Legal Department “Resolving Legal Disputes” Award.
John received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law and his B.S. degree, magna cum laude, in Finance from Bradley University.
John is a member of the Illinois bar and the American Bar Association. He is a member the Legal/Legislative and Corporate Counsel committees of the International Franchise Association. He also sits on the Steering Committee for the National Franchise Mediation Program. John is a former member of the Board of Directors of Campbell Software, Inc., a closely held software company which was acquired by SAP.
John is married, has 4 children and resides in Downers Grove, IL.
