As Senior Vice President and General Manager of SAP America’s regional sales management team, Steve Winter is responsible for leading a designated sales and support team in the Midwest Region, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
In this role, Steve is also responsible for driving industry specific sales along with customer satisfaction for the large enterprise accounts in the Midwest region. Prior to his position leading the Midwest Region, Steve was the Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Southwest Region. Since joining SAP in January 2005, the Southwest region experienced 77% growth year over year and has seen significant customer satisfaction rating improvements.
Steve joined SAP with 12 years experience at PeopleSoft, where he held various executive sales roles. There, Steve produced record sales results in the company’s Southwest Region, leading it to become the top producing region in North America. While at PeopleSoft, Steve most recently held the position of Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Midwest office in Chicago. During his tenure in Chicago, Steve was instrumental in the success of the region and worked to expand the customer base, while driving new business in both up-market and mid-market sales. Steve was also active in driving the integration of JDE’s sales force and developing a strategic campaign to deliver Mid-Market and Enterprise-level solutions. Prior to working at PeopleSoft, Steve was a founding partner of Sagebrook Technology Partners where he focused on investment portfolio management, technology acquisitions and organizational development. In addition to his time with Sagebrook, Steve also served as interim CEO/ President of Isochron Data Corporation from July 2000 through June 2001.
Steve holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration of Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University.
