Chris Morgan is the Founder and Managing Partner of Lantern Partners, a retained senior executive recruiting firm that serves clients in a wide variety of business sectors (technology, financial services, professional services, business process outsourcing, consumer products, retail, direct marketing/catalog, and supply chain/industrial). Chris focuses on recruiting senior executives in the software and software enabled services industries where he has recruited CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, CSOs, and senior human resource executives. He has also recruited Chief Information Officers for a wide variety of companies in the consumer products and services, industrial, business services, and financial services sectors.
Prior to starting Lantern Partners in January 2003, Chris was the youngest Partner at Heidrick and Struggles on a worldwide basis, and he served as a Partner in that firm’s Global Technology Practice. Chris arrived at Heidrick and Struggles via the acquisition of the much-revered Chicago-based senior executive recruiting firm Lynch, Miller, Moore, O’Hara. Chris began his career in senior technology executive recruitment at Ray & Berndtson as an Associate in 1996 and quickly advanced to the role of Principal.
Prior to entering the executive recruiting field, Chris served as an operations and systems consultant for Andersen (FKA Arthur Andersen) where he managed projects to develop and implement data warehouses and decision support solutions which benefited the customer service and field services teams at large utilities and telecommunications companies. Prior to his experience at Andersen, Chris served as a member of the management associate program for Bank of America (FKA Nations Bank) where he led numerous projects to implement and integrate large scale systems in the fixed income trading and funds transfer areas of the bank.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Chris is an avid fly fisherman and soccer player, is an Eagle Scout, and is a graduate of Indiana University where he attained his B.S. in Business. Chris and his wife Jenny live in Wilmette, Illinois and have three boys Henry (8) and Charles (7) and Edward (1). Chris is the Chair of the Membership Committee for the Illinois Information Technology Association (http://www.illinoistech.org), is on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of Chicago (http://www.jachicago.org), and is a former member of the boards of the Taproot Foundation, The Inspiration Café and the Sue Duncan Children’s Center.
