Eugene Morris is a 39-year veteran of the advertising industry. Under his stewardship, E. Morris Communications, Inc. (EMC) has emerged as one of the largest and most respected minority owned marketing communications firms in the U.S. EMC has a long history of serving Fortune 500 Companies and current clients include Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Tyson Foods and Illinois Department of Transportation.
Gene is a recognized expert in multicultural marketing and most recently received the ABLE Leadership Award, the Diversity In Advertising Leadership Award for Corporate/Agency Partnership of the Year from the Foundation for Minorities in Advertising, the Monarch Foundation Award for Communications and the Moss Kendrix Marketer of the Year Award from the National Alliance of Market Developers. He has been profiled in a number of trade and general interest publications and has authored numerous articles on this subject. He is also much sought after as a speaker on the national level.
As Chairman and CEO of EMC, Gene manages day-to-day agency operations with a staff of 45 team members who provide marketing, creative, sales promotion, public relations, media planning, special events and market research services.
Gene is a member of several associations and boards of directors including the National Board of Directors of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA), Founding Chairman of the Association of Black Owned Advertising Agencies (ABAA), Alliance of Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE), American Legacy Magazine and Junior Achievement. He has received numerous awards for his community service.
Prior to founding EMC in 1987, Gene held various positions at Burrell Advertising and Foote, Cone Belding in Chicago. He is a lifelong Chicagoan and a graduate of Roosevelt University.
