Position in the Firm
Bruce Piller is the Managing Partner of the Chicago Office of KPMG. He is also the Partner-in-Charge of the Audit practice for the Chicago and Milwaukee offices. He is responsible for the overall operations and results of the Chicago Office, including financial performance, employee satisfaction, audit quality, client satisfaction and community involvement. He has 26 years of experience with KPMG.
Bruce joined the Dallas office of KPMG in 1980, was admitted into the partnership in 1991, and transferred to Chicago in 2002. Prior to assuming his current role, Bruce held several other leadership positions in the firm, including campus recruiting leader for the Southwest, leader of KPMG’s Southwest manufacturing, retailing, and distribution practice, and partner in charge of the Audit practice for Dallas/Fort Worth.
He has extensive experience working with manufacturing, distribution and restaurant companies. His project experience includes serving as an adviser regarding financial, accounting, and business matters, and also advising on acquisitions and divestitures. Bruce also has extensive international experience and SEC reporting experience. Bruce has served on a number of KPMG national committees, serves as an instructor for a number of KPMG national training courses, and is a frequent speaker at KPMG and civic activities.
Bruce graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, with a BBA degree in accounting. He is actively involved in the Chicago community, serving on the board of directors of the Shedd Aquarium, Junior Achievement of Chicago, and March of Dimes. He is also a member of the Chicago Economic Club, Chicago Executive Club, and National Association of Corporate Directors. He serves as Chairman of the Accountants’ Coalition of the Illinois Society of CPAs and is a member of the AICPA and Illinois and Texas Society of CPAs. Bruce is licensed to practice in Illinois, Texas and Kentucky.
