Steve Strobel is former senior vice president, corporate controller for Motorola, where his responsibilities included corporate accounting and financial reporting, corporate financial planning and analysis, financial support to functions, global financial shared services and indirect procurement.
Prior to joining the company in this position in April 2003, he was vice president finance and treasurer for Owens Corning, with responsibility for the company’s capital structure and liquidity, insurance and currency risk management, customer credit, pension management and strategic planning. From 1996 to 1999 he was vice president and corporate controller of Owens Corning, where he led six business unit controllers, oversaw a staff of 500, and was responsible for internal and external reporting, internal control and cost accounting.
From 1986 to 1996 Steve was with Kraft Foods, a division of Philip Morris Companies, Inc. While at Kraft, he held increasingly responsible financial positions, including director of planning and analysis, Kraft Retail Cheese Division; director of finance, Kraft Corporate Marketing Services; vice president, finance, Kraft Grocery Products Division; vice president and controller, Kraft USA Operations; and chief financial officer, Kraft Foods Canada. Steve began his career in 1980 as a certified public accountant and joined American Hospital Supply Corporation in 1983, where he rose to become a plant controller before moving to Kraft.
Steve received an M.B.A. in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago and a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Illinois.
Steve is a member of the board of directors of Newell Rubbermaid.
